Royce Gracie is considered as one most influential figures in the history of the mixed martial arts. He is an exceptional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and a UFC Hall of Famer. He became famous for his success under the Ultimate Fighting Championship wherein he won several tournaments including UFC1, UFC2, UFC4 and UFC5.

He is admired for having many achievements which have contributed to the steady acclaim of mixed martial arts as a significant sport. He is credited as the fighter who revolutionized the sport and popularizing ground fighting and grappling. Gracie also holds the most consecutive wins via submission in the history of the UFC.

Born on December 12, 1966 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Royce is a member of the famous Gracie family. He stands 6 feet and his main style of fighting is the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Royce has a 6th degree belt in this form of martial art.

Gracie started as a professional mixed martial arts career in 1993. He stopped for a few years and returned in 2000. After that he was active in 2003, 2006, and 2007. By 2010, he announced his retirement, but returned in 2015. His last fight was last 2007 which he won by unanimous decision over Kazushi Sakuraba in Los Angeles, California. This was the game where the fighter was tested positive for using steroids. Despite the results, the decision of the judges for the game was not overturned.

Royce Gracie is currently semi retired. He has a mixed martial arts record of 19 fights with 14 wins, 2 losses and 3 draws. He also starred in a music video by Sepultura and had appeared in films like Vale Todo.
