Andrei “The Pit Bull” Arlovski is a fierce mixed martial artist of Belarusian descent. He is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion and is currently ranked number 11 in the Heavyweight division. Aside from being in the MMA, Arlovski also has a movie and television career – starring in films, such as 8 of Diamonds and Universal Soldier: Regeneration.

Arlovski was born in the quaint town of Babruisk in Belarus on February 4, 1979. After falling victim to bullies during his childhood, he started lifting weights and then learned Karate at the age of 16. He then took a special interest in Sambo, Judo, and Kickboxing. In fact, he became an International Master of Sports for Sambo and won silver medals during the World Sambo Championship and the Sambo World Cup.

Before signing with UFC, Arlovski also had the chance to work under WSOF, Strikeforce, EliteXC, Affliction, and M-1 Challenge. Aside from having over 300 mixed martial arts fights, this heavyweight was also the first ever fighter to land a knockout win over Roy Nelson and the second one to knock Travis Fulton unconscious.

He trains with the Jackson’s Submission Fighting and comes with a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. A mixed martial artist since 1999, Arlovski has gone into a total of 42 fights with 27 wins, 16 losses, and 1 no contests. Most of his wins were by knockout.

While he lost to Tai Tuivasa last June 9, 2018, most of his fights from 2014 have all been successful including those with Frank Mir, Travis Browne, Antonio Silva, Junior Albini, and Stefan Struve.
