Brooks turned pro in January 2011. His first professional opponent was JR Hines and the fight was for Xtreme Fighting Organization. He joined Bellator MMA in January 2013 with an undefeated record of eight fights, he added his win against Ricardo Tirloni to his winning streak.

In February 2013, he had his first professional loss. It was to Saad Award. He followed this with another 8-win streak through his last Bellator fight in November 2015 against Marcin Held.
