Rashid Magomedov or Rashid Magomedgadzhievich Magomedov is a Russian mixed martial artist born on May 14, 1964. He comes with a Dargin heritage. At present, he is signed under the Ultimate Fighting Championship and competes in the lightweight division. During his amateur years in mixed martial arts, he experienced fighting in both middleweight and light heavyweight divisions. The Russian fighter was a former welterweight champion under M-1 Global. He is currently ranked fifteenth in his division by the UFC.
While Magomedov was still young, he was already trained in Combat Sambo. It was in 2008, when he was 24 years old, when he made his career debut in mixed martial arts. By 2014, he was signed under the UFC.
During the span of his career, Magomedov earned a number of accomplishments in addition to his welterweight championship title. These include being a runner-up of the Dagestan Combat Sambo competition sponsored by the Russian Combat Sambo Federation, a champion of the Russian National of Army Hand-to-Hand Combat and a champion of the Russian National Hand-to-Hand.
The 32-year old is known as the, “Brazilian Killer” and “Highlander” in the mixed martial arts world. He stands 5 feet and 9 inches and comes with a 70.5-inch reach.
