HC Energie Karlovy Vary is a professional ice hockey team based in Karlovy Vary in the KV Region of the Czech’s Republic. As of the 2008-2009, the team is a member of the Czech Extraleague. Team colors for HC Energie Karlovy Vary are green, black, yellow and white. The team’s logo depicts a stylized letter ‘e’.
The Kontintental Hockey League (KHL) announced its plans to expand the league to 30 teams. HC Energie Karlovy Vary is billed as one of the more certain teams to join t he league in the 2009-2010 season. The HC Energie Karlovy Vary plans to create an independent expansion to participate in the KHL. The newly created team will not only operate as a KHL member, but will also act as a type of national ice hockey team for the Czech Republic. There are plans to fill the team’s roster with some of the Czech Republics best players similar to the way that KHL teams Dinamo Riga and Dinamo Minsk are supplied with players.

The Zimni Stadion, with an estimated capacity of 4,680 people serves as home ice for the HC Energie Karlovy Vary.
The HC Energie Karlovy Vary has won the Czech Extraliga in 2009 and came as a runner-up in the 2008 games.
