Jimmy Howard
Jimmy Howard is an American goalie on the Detroit Red Wings.
Howard was drafted by the Wings in 2003, after leading the American junior national team to a gold medal at the 2002 World U18 tournament. He then played three seasons at the University of Maine, where he posted a 1.19 GAA in his sophomore season. He joined Detroit’s organization in 2005, making 4 NHL appearances in ’05-06. He split time between Detroit and the AHL over the next three seasons, before making the Wings as Chris Osgood’s backup in 2009.
