Tuomo Ruutu

Tuomo Ruutu is a Finnish winger on the Carolina Hurricanes.

Ruutu was drafted 9th overall in 2001 by Chicago after playing with HIFK and Jokerit in the Finnish SM-liiga. He scored 44 points in his rookie year with Chicago, and appeared in all 82 games. He was traded to Carolina in 2008, at the trade deadline.

Ruutu played for Finland at 4 World Championships, winning bronze medals in 2006 and 2008, and a silver in 2007.
