Niklas Kronwall is a defenceman for the Detroit Red Wings.
Drafted in the first round of the 2000 entry draft, Kronwall remained with his Swedish club team, Djurgårdens IF, until 2003. Kronwall played only 20 games in the 2003 season, and missed most of the 2005-2006 season with a knee injury.
The last two seasons have seen Kronwall play over 60 games in both years, becoming one of the better defenders on Detroit’s successful squads. Kronwall is now recognized as one of the most feared physical forces in the NHL.
