Mike Komisarek
Mike Komisarek is an American defenseman on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Komisarek was drafted by Montreal in 2001, after playing college hockey at the University of Michigan. He joined the Canadiens in 2002, playing 21 games. Komisarek developed into one of the most physical and solid defensively defenseman on the Canadiens over the next 6 seasons. In 2006-07, he had his best offensive season, scoring 4 goals and 19 points. Komisarek is not known for his offensive skills, but he was one of the Canadiens' fans' favorite players due to his heavy hitting style and aggressive play. In 2009, Komisarek was signed to help anchor the rebuilding Maple Leafs' blueline.
Komisarek has played for Team USA at 3 international junior tournaments and the 2006 World Championships.
