Tomas Plekanec is a Czech center on the Montreal Canadiens.

Plekanec was drafted by Montreal in 2001, after playing 3 seasons with HC Kladno. He joined the Habs for 2 games in 2003-04, but returned to the Hamilton Bulldogs before being called up again in 2005. Since then he has developed into one of their top centers, and had a breakout season in 2007-08, finishing with 29 goals and 40 assists for 69 points.

Plekanec played for the Czech Republic at 3 junior international tournaments, winning gold at the 2001 World Juniors. He also played at the ’06, ’07 and ’08 World Championships.
