Johan Hedberg is a Swedish goalie on the New Jersey Devils.

Hedberg was drafted in 1994 by the Philadelphia Flyers. He broke into the league with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2000, where he earned the nickname “Moose” after starting a game wearing a Manitoba Moose mask. He had arguably his best season in 2001-02, starting 64 games and recording a 2.76 GAA. He was a backup in Vancouver for the 2003-04 season, and joined the Dallas Stars in 2005-06, filling in the backup role again. In Atlanta, he saw a jump in playing time, splitting time with Kari Lehtonen, and got far more starts. He struggled a bit in 2007-08 and 2008-09, but bounced back in 2009-10. Filling in with Lehtonen on injured reserve, he posted 21 wins in 42 starts and a respectable 2.62 GAA. The Thrashers opted to make young Ondrej Pavelec the new starter, and Hedberg was allowed to leave as a free agent. He signed with the Devils on the opening day of 2010 free agency.
