Rob Blake is a Canadian defenseman on the San Jose Sharks.
Blake was drafted in 1988 by Los Angeles, where he spent the first 12 years of his career. After playing three seasons at Bowling Green University, he joined the Kings in 1990. In 1993, he helped the team reach the Stanley Cup Finals, and was eventually named team captain in 1996. He was traded to Colorado in 2001, where he won his first and only Stanley Cup. He was traded back to Los Angeles in 2006. The best season of his career statistically was with the Kings in 1993-94, when he scored 20 goals and 68 points. He has made a name for himself as a hard-hitting defenseman with a good offensive skillset. San Jose signed Rob Blake in the 2008 offseason, where he has seen his career rebound, scoring 40+ points for the first time since 2006.
Blake has been a fixture on Team Canada for over a decade, winning 3 gold medals and 2 silver medals along the way.
