Ales Hemsky is a Czech right winger on the Edmonton Oilers.
Hemsky was drafted by Edmonton in the first round of the 2001 NHL draft, after playing for HC Pardubice and Hull of the QMJHL. In his first season with the Oilers, he tallied 6 goals and 30 points, totals which he would improve on over the next couple of seasons. After the lockout, in 2005-06, Hemsky had a career year with 19 goals and 77 points, leading the Oilers to the Stanley Cup Finals.
Hemsky has played for the Czech Republic at the 2005 World Championships, where he won a gold medal and the 2006 Winter Olympics, winning a bronze.
