Erik Cole is an American left winger on the Carolina Hurricanes.
Cole was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in 1998. He played his college hockey at Clarkson, and joined the Hurricanes in 2001, making immediate impressions with a 16 goal, 40 point season. He remained a staple of Carolina’s offense over the next six seasons, with his best statistical season in 2006-07, finishing with 29 goals and a career high 61 points. The previous year, he had his only 30 goal season as he helped the Canes win their first Stanley Cup in 2006. He was traded to Edmonton in 2008, but was sent back to Carolina at the 2009 trade deadline.
Cole played for Team USA at the 2006 Winter Olympics and the 2007 World Championships.
