Wade Redden is a Canadian defenseman on the New York Rangers.

Redden was drafted 2nd overall in 1995 by the New York Islanders, but by the time he was ready to enter the NHL in 1996, he had been traded to the Ottawa Senators. Redden became a staple of the Senators’ defensive corps, spending the next 12 seasons in an Ottawa uniform. His best seasons was in 2005-06, when he recorded a stunning +35, while scoring a career high 40 assists and 50 points. He was signed by the Rangers in the 2008 offseason.

Redden has played for Team Canada on a number of different occasions, winning 3 gold medals at the ’95 and ’96 World Juniors, as well as the 2004 World Cup. He also won a silver medal at the 2005 World Championships.
