Bryan McCabe is a Canadian defenseman on the Florida Panthers.
McCabe was drafted in 1993 by the New York Islanders. He joined the Islanders in 1995, and played there until being dealt to Vancouver in 1998. He was traded to Chicago in 1999 and finally found a home in Toronto in 2000.
McCabe broke out in Toronto, developing into one of the league’s premier defensemen. After the lockout, in 2005-06, McCabe set career highs with 19 goals and 68 points. The 2007-08 season was shortened for McCabe due to injuries. In an effort to lose his large contract, Toronto traded McCabe to Florida during the 2008 offseason.
