Tomas Holmstrom is a Swedish winger on the Detroit Red Wings.

Holmstrom was drafted in 1994, after being scouted playing for Lulea HF in the Swedish Elitserien League. He debuted with Detroit in 1996, and has become one of the dominant power forwards in the NHL. In 2005-06, he set career highs with 81 games and 59 points. He had his first 30 goal season in 2006-07. Holmstrom has spent his entire career with the Red Wings, winning 4 Stanley Cups (1997, 1998, 2002, 2008).

He has also represented Sweden at the World Championships, the 2004 World Cup and the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics. He won a gold medal at Turin in 2006.

Holmstrom's style of play involves him creating a solid presence in front of the opposing goaltender, limiting his visibility of the play, creating screens and drawing attention, as well as banging home any loose rebounds in the area. Due to his large size, he is difficult to move once he has set up in a position in front of the net and has helped the Wings be very successful over the past decade.
