Daniel Ekuale is an American Samoan professional football player who plays as a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). Throughout his career, he has spent time providing interior defensive line depth for the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tanielu "Daniel" Ekuale was born on January 13, 1994, in Pago Pago, American Samoa. The Defensive Tackle stands 191 cm tall, and his weight was last listed at 136 kg.He grew up in American Samoa and attended Nuʻuuli Vocational Technical High School. Rated as the best college prospect in American Samoa for his recruiting class, he received offers from several major programs before committing to play college football for Washington State University. He played for the Cougars from 2013 to 2017, becoming a reliable starter at nose tackle during his redshirt junior season.

Born and raised in the U.S. territory of American Samoa, Ekuale represents the island's famously strong football heritage in the NFL. In June 2025, he became engaged to his fiancée, Apolonia Calleja.Professional Career
Ekuale went undrafted during the 2018 NFL Draft. He subsequently signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns in May 2018.During his early career, Ekuale spent significant time on practice squads before breaking onto active rosters. He made his official NFL debut with the Browns in September 2019. After his stint in Cleveland, he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in September 2020, where he notably recorded his first career sack against quarterback Kirk Cousins.
In September 2021, Ekuale joined the New England Patriots. Over the next four seasons, he developed into a highly reliable rotational piece and eventually a starter on the Patriots' defensive line. After overcoming a torn biceps in 2023, he bounced back to start 16 games for New England during the 2024 season, recording a career-high 52 combined tackles.
Entering free agency in March 2025, Ekuale signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Unfortunately, his 2025 season was cut short when he suffered a torn ACL in Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers. He entered the 2026 offseason focusing on his recovery as a veteran free agent.
