Kirk Cousins is a professional American football player in the National Football League (NFL). He currently holds the quarterback position for the Minnesota Vikings. He is a Pro Bowler and he set several franchise records with the Redskins.

Born on August 19, 1988 in Illinois, he played baseball, basketball, and football while attending Holland Christian High School. He went on to attend Michigan State University where helped the team play in the first ever Big Ten Championships. Cousins declared for the 2012 NFL Draft, and he was selected by the Washington Redskins.

During his rookie season, he was able to play for 3 games with 3 interceptions, 4 touchdowns, and 466 passing yards. In place of Robert Griffin III, Cousins became the starting quarterback for the team and recorded 854 passing yards, 7 interceptions, and 4 touchdowns.

In 2014, lapses in his performance caused him to sit out for the remainder of the season. Cousins had a breakout year in 2015 when he led the team to their biggest comeback win in the history of the Redskins. In 2016, he was ranked 5t among NFL quarterbacks and was ranked 7th in completion percentage. During the 2017 season, he passed at least 4,000 yards and was ranked 94th in the Top 100 Players.

Cousins transferred to the Minnesota Vikings and he recorded 4,298 passing yards, 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. His current player statistics are 2,702 passing attempts, 1,797 passing completions, 66.5 completion percentage, 20,504 passing yards, 95.0 passer rating, and 129-65 touchdowns-interceptions.
