Kwon Alexander was born on August 3, 1994, in Oxford, Alabama, USA. The Linebacker stands 185 cm tall, and his weight was last listed at 103 kg.He attended Oxford High School in Alabama, where he was a highly touted recruit. He chose to play college football for the LSU Tigers from 2012 to 2014. During his time in Baton Rouge, he established himself as a dynamic playmaker in the SEC, earning First-team All-SEC honors during his junior season in 2014 before officially declaring for the NFL Draft.
Personal Life
During his 2015 rookie season, his 17-year-old younger brother, Broderick Taylor II, was tragically shot and killed in their hometown. Just two days later, an emotional Alexander chose to play against the Atlanta Falcons.Professional Career
Alexander was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round (124th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. He made an immediate impact, earning a spot on the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2015. In 2016, he led the entire NFL in solo tackles, and his outstanding early-career play culminated in a Pro Bowl selection in 2017.In 2019, he signed a lucrative free-agent contract with the San Francisco 49ers. He brought his self-described "Legendary" energy to a defense that eventually reached Super Bowl LIV, a run he participated in despite battling a torn pectoral muscle earlier that season.
Midway through the 2020 season, he was traded to the New Orleans Saints, where he played until a torn Achilles tendon cut his campaign short.
After recovering, Alexander continued his career as a highly valuable rotational piece and spot-starter. He played for the New York Jets in 2022 and the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023. During the 2024 season, he spent time with the Denver Broncos before joining the Detroit Lions, where he primarily provided veteran depth on the active roster and practice squad through the end of his tenure in early 2025. He enters the 2026 offseason as a veteran free agent.
