Stephon Gilmore is a professional American football player who plays in the National Football League for the Indianapolis Colts. He also used to play for the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers for a time. He also played for the Buffalo Bills from 2012-2016. He was part of the Patriots team that won Super Bowl LII in 2018. In 2019, he was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He has been named to the Pro Bowl four times in his professional career.

Stephon Stiles Gilmore was born on September 19, 1990, in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He stands 185 cm tall and the cornerback’s weight was last listed at 86 kg.He attended South Point High School in South Caroline. There he not only played football but he was also on the basketball team and he ran track. Some of his more notable high school teammates include Jadeveon Clowney and DeVonte Holloman.
He played collegiate football for the University of South Carolina, enrolling early so he can join spring practice.
Professional Career
He was drafted during the 2012 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills who selected him in the first round, making him the 10th overall pick. He became the second-highest drafted cornerback from the USC since Dunta Robinson.He signed a four-year contract with the team in May 2012 and he became a starting cornerback in his rookie year. He played with the Bills through to 2016. In 2017, he signed with the New England Patriots. He was a part of the Patriots team that won Super Bowl LIII in 2018.
In 2019, he was made a part of the New England Patriots 2010’s All-Decade Team. In the same year, he was the co-leader in interceptions. He was also 2019’s NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
In October 2021, he was traded to the Carolina Panthers. In April 2022, he signed a two-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts.
