Jadeveon Clowney is an American professional football defensive end. He played in the National Football League, earning multiple Pro Bowl selections during his time with the Houston Texans before embarking on a journeyman career across the league.

Jadeveon Davarus Clowney was born on February 14, 1993, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA. The imposing defensive end stands 196 cm tall, and plays at a listed weight of 121 kg.He attended South Pointe High School in his hometown, where he became a national phenomenon and the consensus number-one overall recruit in his class. Staying in-state, he committed to the University of South Carolina, playing for the Gamecocks from 2011 to 2013.
Professional Career
Clowney was selected first overall by the Houston Texans in the 2014 NFL Draft, pairing him with superstar J. J. Watt to form a fearsome defensive front.Although his early career was hindered by injuries, Clowney eventually found his footing and became a highly disruptive force for the Texans. During his final three seasons in Houston (2016–2018), he earned three consecutive Pro Bowl selections and a Second-team All-Pro honor in 2016, proving his value as a premier edge defender.
Following his departure from the Texans in 2019, Clowney transitioned into a mercenary role, often signing short-term deals and providing veteran pass-rushing depth for contending teams. He spent the 2019 season with the Seattle Seahawks, where he made an immediate impact, before moving on to brief stints with the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, and Carolina Panthers.
Ahead of the 2025 season, Clowney signed with the Dallas Cowboys, playing in 13 games and recording 8.5 sacks for the franchise while continuing to prove his effectiveness as a veteran pass rusher. Entering the 2026 offseason, he became a free agent.
Through the 2025 season, he has recorded 450 total tackles, 66.5 sacks, and 16 forced fumbles across his career.
