Danielle Hunter is a Jamaican-born American football player who grew up in Texas. He plays in the National Football League and has been an outside linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings since they drafted him in 2015. In his career, he has been selected to play in the Pro Bowl twice in his career, the most recent one in 2019.

Danielle Hunter was born on October 29, 1994, in St. Catherine, Jamaica. He and his family later moved to Katy, Texas when Hunter was 8 years old. He stands 196 cm and his weight was last listed at 119 kg.He attended Morton Ranch High School in Katy, Texas. He not only played football in Morton Ranch but was also part of the Track & Field team. By the time he was a senior, Rivals.com regarded him as a top recruit. He committed to play for the Louisiana State University.
He played at the university from 2012 to 2014 before deciding to forgo the rest of his college eligibility to join the 2015 NFL Draft.
Professional Career
The Minnesota Vikings chose him in the third round and he was the 88th pick of the draft. At the time of his draft, he was the youngest player in the NFL. In 2015, he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.In 2018, he was named to the Second-team All-Pro for the first time in his career. In the next year, he was named to the Pro Bowl. In Week 14 of that year, he was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week. He also became the youngest player in the NFL to reach 50 sacks.
A herniated disk in his neck that needed surgery saw him placed on injured reserve. He returned to active play in 2021 but a torn pectoral muscle had him back on injured reserve.
