Tevin Coleman is an American former professional football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for eight seasons. He was a key offensive weapon who notably helped the Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers reach the Super Bowl during his career.

Tevin Ford Coleman was born on April 16, 1993, in Tinley Park, Illinois, USA. The dynamic running back stands 185 cm tall, and played at a listed weight of 95 kg.

He attended Oak Forest High School in Oak Forest, Illinois, where he showcased exceptional athleticism as a running back, wide receiver, and return specialist. Committing to Indiana University, Coleman played for the Hoosiers from 2012 to 2014.

He developed into one of the most productive running backs in the country, culminating in a historic 2014 junior season. Rushing for over 2,000 yards, he earned Unanimous All-American and First-team All-Big Ten honors before declaring for the NFL Draft.

Professional Career

Coleman was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round (73rd overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

In Atlanta, he formed a highly effective and dangerous backfield tandem with Devonta Freeman. Coleman's ability to stretch the field as a receiver and hit the hole with incredible burst made him a perfect fit for offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan's system.

He was a vital contributor to the Falcons' historic 2016 offense that reached Super Bowl LI, scoring a receiving touchdown in the championship game.

Ahead of the 2019 season, Coleman signed with the San Francisco 49ers, reuniting with Shanahan, who had become the team's head coach. He had a strong 2019 campaign, highlighted by a dominant four-touchdown performance against the Carolina Panthers. He later helped the 49ers reach Super Bowl LIV, where he played through a dislocated shoulder.

Following his time as a primary starter in San Francisco, Coleman transitioned to a veteran role. He spent the 2021 season with the New York Jets before returning to the 49ers in 2022 for his final professional season.

He concluded his eight-year NFL career with 3,319 rushing yards, 1,317 receiving yards, and 38 total touchdowns.
