Devonta Freeman is a professional American football player in the National Football League (NFL). He currently holds the running back position for the Atlanta Falcons. Freeman is a two-time Pro Bowler and a rushing touchdowns leader.

Born on March 15, 1992 in Georgia, Freeman helped his football team to the state championship and received the MVP award while he was attending Miami Central High School. He then went on to attend Florida State University where he was constantly leading his team in rushing. Freeman declared for the 2014 NFL draft and was selected by the Atlanta Falcons.

During his first year with the Falcons, he recorded 248 rushing yards on 65 carries, one rushing touchdown, two receiving touchdowns, and 225 receiving yards on 30 receptions. Freeman had a breakout season in 2015 where he was one of the leaders in both receptions and receiving yards.

He had his first Super Bowl appearance in 2016 and was ranked as the sixth top running back on the Top 100 Players in the NFL. In 2017, he became the highest paid running back in the league with the Falcon’s contract extension. He suffered from a knee injury at the start of the 2018 season and was placed on injured reserve.

His current player statistics are 3,321 rushing yards, 4.3 rushing average, 30 rushing touchdowns, 198 receptions, 1,605 receiving yards, and 7 receiving touchdowns.
