The KwaZulu Natal cricket team which was formerly known by the name, the Natal Cricket team is the first class cricket team. This team represents the KwaZulu-Natal province, formerly Natal, in South Africa. For the purpose of the SuperSport Series, this team is the only team that didn’t merge with another team. This team has played in the series since 2004 as the Dolphins.
KwaZulu Natal team were originally known by the name, Natal, and began playing since December 1889 during the start of the first class cricket in South Africa. The name, Natal got changed in 1998.

Major Achievements
The team has won the Currie cup for twenty one times. They won the Standard Bank Cup four times, 1983-84, 1996-97, 200-01 and 2001-02. Moreover, the team never won the South African Airways Provincial Three Day challenge once in 2006-07 season.
Other than that, this team won the Gillette Cup/ Nissan Shield thrice, in 1974-75, 1976-77 and in 1987-88.
