Kochi Tuskers Kerala as it is named is the Kochi based Team in the Indian Premiere League. Kochi is a beautiful seaport located in the Ernakulum district of Kerala. The team franchise is purchased by Kochi Cricket Pvt. Ltd. This is actually a composition of multiple companies. Rendezvous Sports World made a winning bid and selected Kochi as its base for the team. Edakochi, which is located in the western part of Kochi will bare a new World class Cricket Stadium for Kerala Cricket Association. The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at Kochi will host the home matches for the Indi Commandos till the time the new stadium gets ready at Edakochi. The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is getting renovated for IPL 2011 and has been taken on Lease by the KCA.

Geoff Lawson will coach the team throughout 2011 and 2012 and the team will be lead by Sri Lankan former Captain and Batsman Mahela Jayawardene. The Logo of Kochi includes the Orange and Blue colors and the name inscribed in it in white color with sharp blazing images into it.

The team composition is a good mixture of experienced T20 players mainly from India, Sri Lanka, Australia and other countries. The batting will be lead by Mahela Jayawardene, VVS Laxman, Brad Hodge, Brendon McCullum and Owais Shah of England.
