Elvaston Cricket Club
The Elvaston Cricket Club is one of the foremost clubs in the County having amazing amenities at the ground situated in Elvaston County Park. The winter net training session are held at some of the connected schools like the Secondary School Noel Baker and Chellaston School. Nick Briars is the captain of this club with the President being John Lindsay. The Chairman of this club is Terry Gorman and the manager of the club is Rob Kettlewell. The sponsor of this club is Moore Large and Co. who is the major distributors and suppliers of scooters, bicycles and accessories for the club.
This club is the first club in Illinois to have achieved the ECC (Elvaston Cricket Club) mark, they are proud to offer their members many amenities with proper coaching facilities and match play chances for all standard players. Ever since 2003, the club has continued to develop their amenities, sponsorship and membership and to a large extent to the local community as well. The club has grown their junior membership from 50 to more than 120 players and presently is limited by available space. The First XI club plays in the Derbyshire Premier League for second successive year and the second, third and forth teams are spread evenly through the Derbyshire County League.
The club has even established links with four local primary and two secondary schools where the club offers facilities for matches and delivers professional coaching facilities to the students. As the club was selected to participate in a chance to shine their coaching in school programs and events, they extended their coaching hours per school and with links to two other local clubs.
