East and Central Africa cricket team
The East and Central Africa cricket team was a cricket team which represented Zambia, Malawi, Uganda and Tanzania teams in international cricket matches. These teams were an associate member of the International Cricket Council and were active ICC members too from 1989 to 2003.
History
The East and Central Africa cricket team was actually a replacement for the East African team. The East African team was an associate member of the ICC until 1989. Malawi and Zambia later on joined Tanzania and Uganda and this team made their debut ICC Trophy in 1990. The team played in the 3 ICC Trophies, where in 2001 tournament, Zambia, Tanzania and Malawi only represented. Uganda became an associate member of the ICC in 1998 in their own right.

After the 2001 ICC Trophy, Tanzania too became an associate member in their own right and this team finally dissolved in 2003. At this point Zambia became an associate member while Malawi team became an affiliate member.
Tournament till Date History
With right to ICC Trophy, in 1990, it had plate competition, finishing in the 18th place in 1994. In 1997, this team was in 17th place and 2001 saw this team in the first round. The first recorded match of East and Central Africa cricket team was in June 1990 against Denmark at Netherlands.
