The constituent nations of the Leeward Island Cricket Association are represented by the Leewards Island cricket team. The member countries of this association are Saint Maarten, U.S. Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Montserrat, Anguilla, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda. This first class cricket team is not involved in any international competition. It takes part in the KFC Cup and the Carib Beer Cup which are the inter-regional competitions in the Caribbean.
The Leewards Island cricket team has won the domestic one day championship once between 1970 and 1980, once between 1980 and 1990, four times between 1990 and 2000. The team has been victorious in the domestic first class championship once between 1980 and 1990 and thrice between 1990 and 2000.

Some of the prominent cricketers of this team in the past were Stuart Williams, Andy Roberts, Richie Richardson, Vivian Richards, Derick Parry, Ridley Jacobs, Winston Benjamin, Kenny Benjamin, Keith Arthurton and Curtly Ambrose.
The Antigua Recreation Ground (ARG) is the singular ground where test cricket is played and 50 first class matches have been played here. In St Kitts Warner Park is another traditional ground where this team has played about 28 first class matches. The other grounds where this team has participated in its home games are Grove Park in Nevis, Addelita Cancryn Junior High School Ground in St Thomas, Carib Ground in St Maarten, Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex in St Kitts and Salem Oval in Montserrat.
In 2005-06 the members of the team were as follows – the captain was Sylvester Joseph, the all rounder was Omari Banks, the wicket keeper was Alderman Lesmond, the bowlers were Adam Sanford, Curtis Roberts, Maxford Pipe, Gavin Tonge, Carl Simon, Kerry Jeremy, Colin Hamer, the batsmen were Runako Morton, Tonito Willett, Austin Richards, Junie Mitchum, Steve Liburd, Shane Jeffers and Wilden Cornwall.
Major achievements
The Leeward Island cricket team has won the domestic one day championship six times and the domestic first class competition four times.
