Simon Cook
Simon James Cook is a professional English cricketer who plays for the Kent County Cricket Club. He was born 15th January 1977 in Oxford. Standing 6 feet 4 inches tall, Cook is a right-arm medium-fast bowler who also contributes well with the bat.
Cook was picked up by Middlesex in 1997 along with Andrew Strauss. He played for them until 2004. His career was hampered due to injuries and he could make only 7 first class appearances in 2000. He performed well for the team after Angus Fraser, his mentor left for 2 years. He exhibited his best bowling performance by taking 8 wickets for 63 runs. He finished just shy of fifty wickets in the season.
He again took thirty nine wickets National League in 2004 and equaled Adam Hollioake’s record. He made total 135 first-class appearances of the club taking 341 wickets.
Kent County Cricket Club signed Cook at the end of 2004. He has become a regular player for the first team usually taking the new ball.
