Chad Keegan, a professional South African cricketer, was born on 30th July 1979 in Johannesburg. He is an all-rounder performer who happens to be a right arm-fast medium bowler and a right handed hard-hitting batsman. Currently signed by the Sussex County Cricket Club, Keegan has also played for Middlesex from 2001 to 2007. In 2004, Chad Keegan struggled with several injuries like a double stress-fracture coupled with sensitive joints. As a result, he had to change his bowling action completely.
In 2009, he was given a trial by Sussex as he was injured in the past. He played for their 2nd XI team. Later, he played for the main team but Sussex lost the match, though his performance in batting and bowling were good.
Keegan made his first-class debut in 2001. In 56 first-class matches played so far, he has taken 165 wickets at an average of 33.30 including a best bowling figure of 6 wickets for 114 runs. With bat, he has scored 860 runs with a top score of 82. In 99 List A matches, he has taken 151 wickets with a best bowling performance of 6 wickets for 33 runs. He has even scored a half century in these matches.
