Steven Peter Devereux Smith is an Australian international cricket player who presently plays for the New South Wales Blues team. This all rounder bats right handed and bowls right arm leg spin. The other major teams that he has been a part of include the Kent Second XI, the Sutherland Cricket Club and many other teams. Presently, he is part of the Pune Warrior India team to play at the IPL 5 season 2012.
He took 4 wickets of 15 runs against Queensland, finishing with 9 wickets overall, due to which, he was named as the second best player of the match. His first class debut was in 2008 against Western Australia at the SCG. Smith played his debut First Class match against Western Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He was also included in the New South Wales Team which won the Twenty20 Champions League in 2009. In 2010 Twenty20 World Cup he became the second highest wicket taker and took 11 wickets.
Steven Smith made his Test debut at the famous Lord’s in 2010. He played two Test matches against Pakistan which were played in England. He put up a good show with ball as well as bat in this series. Smith is a good fielder like every Australian Cricketer and bats well with a healthy Strike Rate.

During a club match, Smith switched his guard and hit a six batting left handedly. Steven Smith played his first One Day International match against West Indies on 19th February 2010. Steven Smith was associated with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous versions of the IPL.
