Angelo Davis Mathews was born on 2nd June 1987 and is a professional Sri Lankan Cricketer. He is a right-arm medium fast bowler and a right handed batsman. He made his debut for Sri Lanka Under-19s at the age of just 16 against Pakistan. Presently, he is a part of Pune Warriors India to play at the IPL 5 season 2012.
Mathews is a wonderful All-Rounder who can bat in any position in the batting order. He is proficient of hitting the ball down the ground with great power. He is also a good bowler and has picked up many wickets for the Sri Lankan Team. The slower ball is one of his favorite weapons while bowling where he changes the pace of the ball intelligently.
He has also captained Sri Lankan Team in the Under-19 World Cup 2006 which was held in Sri Lanka itself. Mathews made his debut against the tour in Zimbabwe in 2008. He has a highest score of 99 runs in the 13 Test matches he has played with 77 not out in the 40 ODIs till date.
