Vijay Samuel Hazare has been fondly remembered for his scintillating performance during the first tour on the part of India to Australia in ‘1947-48’. It was then that he had scored century in every inning of Adelaide test. The other teams with which Vijay was associated include Central India, Baroda, and Maharashtra.
Vijay Hazare made his debut in international Test against England in the year 1946 in a three-day match held from 22nd to 25th of June. England had managed to win the match by 10 wickets. In the first innings, Vijay made a brilliant 31; whereas in the second innings, he scored 34. Also, he took 2 wickets in the first innings. Vijay played his last test against West Indies from 28th of March to 4th of April, 1953. In this 6-day match, he scored 16 runs in the first innings; whereas 12 in the other.

In 30 Test matches played altogether, Vijay had made 2192 runs; with 20 wickets. ‘164 not out’ had been the highest score. The most ‘productive’ domestic season had been in the years 1943-44. It was when he had scored ‘1423’ runs.
