Salman Butt is a former professional cricketer from Pakistan. He played for the Pakistan National Cricket Team from 2003 to 2010. He also played domestic cricket, spending most of his career with different teams in Lahore.

Salman Butt was born on October 7, 1984, in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. He stands 170 cm and bats left-handed while bowling with a right-arm off spin.He is an opening batsman and he made his Test Cricket debut in 2003. A year later, he made his One Day Internationals debut. In 2007, he debuted in T20I cricket.
Career
Butt started playing professionally in the 2000/2001 season, joining the Lahore Whites. Concurrent to that, he also played for the Lahore Blues for a short time. In addition, he also played for the National Bank of Pakistan Team.He made his international debut in 2003 in a Test game against Bangladesh. In 2004, he made his One Day International debut playing for Pakistan against the West Indies. He did not make his T20I debut until 2007.
For the 2006/2007 season, he played for the Lahore Shalimar. He also played for the Lahore Eagles at around the same time.
Other domestic teams he’s played for include the Lahore Lions, Lahore Qalandars, and Central Punjab. He also played in the Indian Premier League for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Butt last played professionally in 2019.
