Monty Panesar is a left handed batsman and slow left arm orthodox bowler who plays for England cricket team. The other teams for whom he has played are Northamptonshire, Marylebone Cricket Club, Loughborough UCCE and British Universities.

Panesar debuted in Test cricket on 1st March 2006 at Nagpur against India. In the 1st innings, he scored 9 runs in 43 deliveries and was leg before wicket to Sreesanth. He played his first One day International on 12th January 2007 at Melbourne against Australia. In this match, he bowled 10 overs, out of which 1 was maiden, conceded 46 runs and took 1 wicket. Australia won this match by 8 wickets with 28 deliveries to spare.
