Chamara Silva is a right handed batsman and legbreak bowler who plays for Sri Lanka cricket team. The other teams he has played for are Sinhalese Sports Club, Sebastianites Cricket and Athletic Club, Panadura Sports Club, Deccan Chargers, Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club and Basnahira South.
Silva debuted in One day International cricket on 26th August 1999 at Colombo against Australia. In this match, he scored 55 runs in 85 deliveries and was stumped by Gilchrist off the bowling of Warne. He debuted in Test cricket on 7th December 2006 at Christchurch against New Zealand. In the 1st innings, he was out for a duck off the bowling of Franklin. In the 2nd innings, he was caught by Vettori off the bowling of Bond for no score.
