Martin Crowe
Martin Crowe was a professional cricketer from New Zealand. He served as the captain for New Zealand’s Test Cricket and One Day Internationals teams. Crowe is widely regarded as the best batsman in New Zealand.

Martin David Crowe was born on September 22, 1962, in Henderson, New Zealand. He bats right-handed and he bowls right-handed with a medium pace. For most of his career, he played as a Middle-order Batsman.Crowe came from a family of professional cricketers. His father was Dave Crowe, a cricketer. His brother Jeff Crowe also played professionally. He was married to Lorraine Downes, a former beauty queen. Crowe was also cousins with actor Russel Crowe.
Career
He started his professional career playing for the Auckland Cricket Team in the 1979/1980 season. He would play with them through 1982/1983.In 1982, he was capped by the New Zealand National Cricket Team and he made his Test Cricket debut with them in February 1982. In the same month, he also made his One Day Internationals debut.
From 1983/84 to 1989/90, he played for the Central Districts. During that time, he also signed with Somerset and played with them from 1984 to 1988.
The last team he played for was Wellington and he was with them from 1990/91 to 1994/95. He retired shortly thereafter, making his final Test and ODI appearances in November 1995.
After retiring from International cricket, Crowe took up the role of a commentator and pundit.
He also took on a managerial role and managed the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He died on March 3, 2016, at the age of 53.
