Stuart Matsikenyeri
Stuart Matsikenyeri is a right-handed batsman and a right- arm off break bowler with the Zimbabwe cricket team. He has also played cricket for the Manicaland cricket club.
Matsikenyeri started playing first class cricket in 1999. He made his debut in International cricket in a One Day International match held against Pakistan at Bulawayo in 2002. He opened the batting lineup with Campbell scoring 1 run before he was caught by Akmal on a ball by Wasim Akram. Pakistan went on to win the match by 7 runs.
The following year in 2003, Matsikenyeri played his debut test match against the West Indies at Harare. He made his first half century and scored 57 runs in the first innings before being caught again this time by Jacobs on a ball by Edwards. He also bowled an expensive 2 overs giving away 10 runs. In the second innings Matsikenyeri scored 46 runs and remained not out. He bowled 2 overs again this time giving away just 6 runs. The match resulted in a draw.
Matsikenyeri, who had played for a match in the 2003 World Cup was the only member to be selected in the 2007 World Cup Zimbabwe team. In a total of 8 test matches, Matsikenyeri has scored 351 runs and claimed 2 wickets.
