Iftikhar Anjum
Iftikhar Anjum is a right arm medium pace bowler and a right handed batsman playing with the Pakistan Cricket team. He is an effective bowler and can bowl outswingers and reverse swings with the old ball.
Iftikhar made his first class debut in 1999 and was recognized for his performance when he led the Zarai Taraqiati Bank team to victory in the Patron’s Trophy after taking 10 wickets in the final match out of which 7 he claimed in the first innings. He has over 200 wickets to his name in domestic cricket. Iftikhar made his International debut in 2004 in a match against Zimbabwe in Multan. He bowled 7 overs and claimed one wicket giving away 41 runs and helped Pakistan win the match.
In 2007 he was also selected to the Pakistan World Cup team where he claimed 5 wickets in the three matches that he played. He is one of the more senior players in the Pakistani side after Shoaib Akthar and Mohammed Asif were caught in doping and behavioral controversies. Iftikhar was also part of the ICC World Twenty20 Pakistan team as he keeps a low profile outside the field and likes to keep working with his game.
He made his test debut against Sri Lanka in april 2006 and remained wicketless. till date he has just played that lone test match.
In a total of 62 One day Internationals played by him, Iftikhar has 77 wickets to his name with an economy of 4.92 runs per over.
