David Johan Jacobs is a South African first class cricket player who plays for the Warriors team. Born in 1982 in Transvaal, South Africa, Davy, as he is fondly known by all, played for the Eagles Cricket team too. Other major teams that he has played so far include Free State, North West and Northamptonshire. David was selected to play for the IPL 4 season 2011 for the team of Mumbai Indians. He was picked by the team at IPL Player Auction for 190,000 dollars. Presently, he has been retained by this team to play for the IPL 5 season.

David is a right handed wicket keeper and a batsman too, having made over 3000 first class runs at an average of more than 40, with his highest score at one match being 218.

As a substitute overseas player, David played for the Northamptonshire County Cricket. In 2010 Champions League Twenty20, he played amazingly during the second edition, and finished runner up to Murali Vijay in the Golden Bat table.
