Pakistan’s captain Younus Khan has been declared unfit for the first game of Pakistan’s campaign against West Indies at Johannesburg. This means that he will miss out on the game against the West Indies and will look to get fit before their next game which will be played on Saturday against India. Injured his finger>

Younus Khan had hurt his finger and sustained a hairline fracture in the practice game against Sri Lanka that Pakistan had gone on to win. Although the Pakistani manager Yawar Saeed had said that the injury was nothing serious, it has been revealed that the injury is a lot more serious than what was thought to be. Shahid Afridi will be the stand-in captain for Pakistan.

Earlier, the manager had also said that he will be fit to play for the first game. However, with the news trickling in that he had suffered a fracture, it was also announced that he will not be able to feature in the first game.

West Indies has come into the tournament with a second string side, so Pakistan should invariably win the game. But, the more crucial game for them will be the second one when they take on India on Saturday. Younus Khan has already said that he would love to beat India in the game as they hadn’t had the better of India in the recent games.
