Yuko Kuroki

Yuko Kuroki is an active professional boxer from Japan. She is a highly decorated two-weight World Champion, having held the WBC Minimumweight title, the unified WBA and WBO Atomweight titles, and most recently the WBA Minimumweight title.

Yuko Kuroki was born on March 28, 1991, in Fukuoka, Japan. The Japanese fighter is 158 cm tall and has a wingspan of 158 cm.

She has competed primarily in the Atomweight and Minimumweight divisions. She fights from a southpaw position and is known for her longevity in the sport, having started her career as a teenager.

Career

Kuroki began her professional campaign in December 2008. She first reached the summit of the sport in May 2014, defeating Mari Ando to win the WBC Minimumweight World Title. She successfully defended this belt five times during a three-year reign before losing it to Momo Koseki in 2017.

After a period of rebuilding, Kuroki moved down to the Atomweight division and enjoyed a career renaissance. In 2022, she captured the WBO Atomweight World Title. She unified the division in 2023 by defeating Monserrat Alarcon to add the WBA Atomweight World Title to her collection. She held these unified titles until 2024, cementing her legacy in the lightest weight class.

Seeking new challenges, Kuroki moved back up to the Minimumweight division in 2025. In January 2025, she captured the WBA Minimumweight World Title, becoming a two-time champion in the division. However, her reign was cut short in October 2025 when she traveled to Hamburg, Germany, to face the unified WBO champion Sarah Bormann. In a bloody and competitive unification bout, Kuroki lost a split decision, ending her second tenure as a Minimumweight World Champion.
