She has emerged as a major advocate for equality in women's boxing, notably pushing for championship fights to be contested over 12 three-minute rounds.
Career
Baumgardner began her professional campaign in March 2017 with a first-round knockout victory. She gained international recognition in November 2021 with a stunning fourth-round TKO of Terri Harper in Sheffield, England, to capture the WBC and IBO Super Featherweight titles.She unified the division in October 2022 by defeating Mikaela Mayer via split decision in a high-profile grudge match at the O2 Arena in London. She then achieved undisputed status in February 2023 by defeating Elhem Mekhaled to add the WBA title to her collection.
After a No Contest ruling in a defense against Delfine Persoon in 2024, Baumgardner successfully defended her undisputed crown in July 2025 with a unanimous decision victory over Jennifer Miranda in New York.
In September 2025, Baumgardner vacated her WBC title in protest of the organization's refusal to sanction women's bouts with three-minute rounds. She is scheduled to defend her remaining unified titles against Leila Beaudoin on December 19, 2025, in Miami, in a bout contested under the same time rules as men's championship fights.
