Carlos Canizales is an active professional boxer from Venezuela. He is a former WBA (Regular) Light Flyweight World Champion and a current top contender in the division.

Carlos Antonio "CCC" Cañizales Civira was born on March 11, 1993, in Caracas, Venezuela. The Venezuelan fighter is 160 cm tall and has a wingspan of 164 cm.

He has competed in the Light Flyweight division throughout his professional tenure. He fights from an orthodox position and is known for his aggressive pressure style and heavy hands. He operates out of his hometown of Caracas.

Career

Canizales began his professional campaign in July 2014. He quickly rose to world title contention, fighting to a draw against WBA champion Ryoichi Taguchi in December 2016. In March 2018, he captured the vacant WBA (Regular) Light Flyweight Title by defeating Reiya Konishi via unanimous decision in Japan.

He successfully defended his title against Bin Lu and Sho Kimura before losing it to Esteban Bermudez in a major upset knockout loss in May 2021. Canizales rebuilt his standing with victories over Ganigan Lopez and Daniel Matellon to earn another world title shot.

In January 2024, Canizales challenged unified champion Kenshiro Teraji in Japan, losing a competitive majority decision. He rebounded in July 2024 by defeating Ivan Garcia Balderas to win the WBC Silver Light Flyweight Title.

In August 2025, Canizales achieved a significant victory by knocking out Panya Pradabsri in the fifth round to capture the WBC Light Flyweight World Title in Caracas. However, he lost the title in an immediate rematch in December 2025 via majority decision.
