He fights from an orthodox position and is known for his compact power and aggressive style, earning him the nickname "La Pulga" (The Flea).
Career
Soto began his professional campaign in October 2016. He rose to international prominence in June 2019 when he scored a stunning 12th-round knockout victory over Angel Acosta to win the WBO Light Flyweight World Title. He successfully defended the title against Edward Heno, Javier Rendon, and Carlos Buitrago.He lost his WBO title in October 2021 via split decision in a unification bout against Jonathan Gonzalez. Following the loss, he faced former world champion Hekkie Budler in a WBC title eliminator in June 2022, losing a close unanimous decision after being dropped in the final round.
Soto returned to the ring in 2023 with victories over Brian Mosinos and Jose Ramirez Armenta. In November 2024, he fought to a draw against Moises Caro. Most recently, on November 29, 2025, Soto suffered a points loss to Erik Badillo in Fresno, California.
