He has competed in the Super Flyweight division during his professional tenure. He fights from an orthodox position and is known for his relentless pressure and high work rate. He represented Argentina at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Career

Martínez began his professional campaign in August 2017 with a fourth-round stoppage victory. He captured his first world title in February 2022 in a rivalry with long-reigning champion Jerwin Ancajas], winning a unanimous decision to take the IBF Super Flyweight belt. He successfully defended the title in a rematch with Ancajas in October 2022.

He further solidified his status by stopping Jade Bornea in 2023. In July 2024, Martínez unified titles by defeating legendary Japanese champion Kazuto Ioka via unanimous decision in Tokyo, adding the WBA Super Flyweight Title to his collection.

He defended his WBA title in a rematch against Ioka in May 2025, recovering from a knockdown to win a unanimous decision.
