Jesse James “Bam” Rodríguez Franco was born on January 20, 2000, in San Antonio, Texas, USA. The American fighter is 163 cm tall and has a wingspan of 170 cm.

He has competed in multiple weight classes, from Light Flyweight to Super Flyweight. He fights from a southpaw position and is known for his exceptional footwork, angles, and technical prowess. He is of Mexican descent.

Career

Rodriguez began his professional campaign in March 2017. He made history in February 2022 by defeating Carlos Cuadras to win the vacant WBC Super Flyweight Title, becoming the youngest active world champion and the first boxer born in the 2000s to win a major title.

After successfully defending his title, including a TKO win over Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, he moved down to Flyweight. In 2023, he unified the division by capturing the WBO title against Cristian Gonzalez and then adding the IBF Title with a stoppage victory over Sunny Edwards.

In June 2024, Rodriguez returned to Super Flyweight and scored a career-defining knockout victory over Juan Francisco Estrada to reclaim the WBC Title and win the Ring Magazine Belt. He further unified the division in July 2025 by stopping WBO champion Phumelele Cafu in the 10th round.
