Career
Puello began his professional campaign in March 2015. He won his first world title in August 2022 by defeating Batyr Akhmedov via split decision to capture the vacant WBA Super Lightweight championship.He was later stripped of this title. He returned to championship status in June 2024, in a rivalry with the previously undefeated Gary Antuanne Russell. Puello defeated Russell by split decision to win the vacant WBC Interim Super Lightweight title and was later elevated to full champion.
After a successful defense against Sandor Martín, Puello faced Subriel Matías in July 2025. Puello lost the WBC title and suffered his first professional defeat via majority decision.
